Generally speaking the average Irish countryman's social life is - I should have said, was - a drab and indeed isolated affair in comparison with the city dweller's. So, it is with regret that we have to say and admit to the fact that one of the brightest days in his calendar has passed on - the old time rural wedding. Yes indeed we have bade goodbye forever to those grand old sporting days and to the memory of the grand old folk of the past.
